In 2010
a young boy named Alex Scott set out to make a difference in the world. Despite being diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer, at just 1 year old, Alex never let his illness get in the way of his big dreams. Instead, he channeled his energy into something positive and inspiring.
Mission
Alex's mission began with a lemonade stand. He wanted to raise money to support pediatric cancer research and help other kids like himself. The response was overwhelming. On the first day, Alex raised $2,000 and inspired others to join in his mission. Over the next few years, Alex continued to raise funds through lemonade stands and other events, eventually raising over $1 million for pediatric cancer research.
Sadly, Alex passed away in 2004 at the age of 8.
But his spirit lived on through his parents, who established the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation in his memory. The foundation has since raised over $150 million and funded over 800 cutting-edge research projects aimed at finding better treatments and ultimately a cure for pediatric cancer.
Alex Scott's story is one of courage, determination, and a selfless desire to make the world a better place. He shows us that no matter how small we may be, we can all make a difference. This young hero continues to inspire us all to follow our dreams and make a positive impact in the world.
